POLYTRON LAUNCHES FIRST INDONESIAN-ASSEMBLED ELECTRIC CARS
Polytron, a subsidiary of the Djarum Group, has launched two domestically assembled electric cars — the Polytron G3 and G3+ — marking a major milestone as the first local business group to enter Indonesia’s electric car market. Developed in partnership with China’s Skyworth Auto and powered by lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) batteries, the G3 series offers a range of up to 402 kilometers and boasts a high level of local content (TKDN), reflecting growing domestic manufacturing capabilities. The company is also offering a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model to make EV ownership more affordable. Government officials, including Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, praised the move as a strategic push toward cleaner mobility and economic growth. Analysts view Polytron’s expansion from consumer electronics to green vehicles as a significant contribution to Indonesia’s goal of producing 600,000 EVs annually by 2030, reducing import reliance, and strengthening local supply chains.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/4258/markets-and-finance/polytron-launches-first-indonesian-assembled-electric-cars (ICE GIACARTA)
