AUTOMOTIVE INVESTMENT IN INDONESIA REACHES IDR 157 TRILLION IN 2020-2024
Indonesia's Minister of Investment and Downstream/Head of the Indonesian Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, announced that investment in Indonesia's automotive sector reached IDR 157 trillion during 2020–2024, underscoring its significant role in the national economy. The sector contributes over 29% to GDP through investment, with the manufacturing industry accounting for 18.9% of GDP and the automotive industry alone contributing an average of 7.6% to manufacturing GDP. Roeslani highlighted that this strong investment momentum is closely tied to Indonesia’s vast potential in electric vehicle (EV) development. The country has established a comprehensive EV battery ecosystem—from nickel mining to battery recycling—positioning Indonesia as a strategic hub in the global EV supply chain.Source: https://otomotif.kompas.com/read/2025/05/07/151200315/investasi-otomotif-di-indonesia-capai-rp-157-triliun-pada-2020-2024 (ICE GIACARTA)
