Retail sales in Kazakhstan up 6.1% in Jan-AprilThe volume of retail sales in January-April 2025 grew by 6.1% year over year to make 6.206 trillion tenge, the National Statistics Bureau of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.The share of food products in the total volume of retail trade accounted for 28.5%, non-food products – 71.5%.Compared to January-April 2025, the sales volume of food products increased in the reporting period by 4.4%, non-food products by 6.8%.As at May 1, 2025 the total stock of the trade organizations stood at 1.576 trillion tenge, which is enough to last for 63 trading days.Retail activity during January-April 2025 was primarily concentrated in the cities of Almaty (31.8%) and Astana (13.1%), the Karaganda region (7.8%) and the East Kazakhstan region (5.7%).
