Indonesian Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, has reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to accelerating 5G infrastructure and technological development both within the country and across the Asia-Pacific region. During a recent meeting in Jakarta with Julian Gorman, Asia-Pacific Head of GSMA (Asia-Pacific of mobile ecosystem organisation), Hafid stated that her ministry is working to simplify industry regulations and is preparing a spectrum auction this year to speed up the rollout of 5G connectivity nationwide. Gorman highlighted Indonesia as a key player in advancing 5G in the region, noting that success depends not only on infrastructure but also on the government’s ability to align industry stakeholders, telecom providers, and the community.
