ACB TO RAISE CHARTER CAPITAL TO OVER VND51 TRILLION

Asia Commercial Bank (ACB) has received approval from Vietnam’s central bank to raise its charter capital by nearly VND6.7 trillion through a 15% share dividend issuance. This move will increase its capital from VND44.67 trillion to VND51.37 trillion, with the issuance expected in Q3 2025. The additional capital will support credit growth, government bond investments, and long-term strategic plans. In Q1, ACB posted a pre-tax profit of VND4.6 trillion, down 6% year-on-year due to interest rate support programs, though return on equity remained above 20%. Its outstanding loans rose 3.1% to VND590 trillion, with a slight drop in the non-performing loan ratio to 1.48%. On May 12, ACB shares rose 1.04% to VND24,400 amid a broader market rally. Vietnam’s VN-Index gained 1.26% to close at 1,283.26 points, led by strong performance in banking and real estate stocks. Banks like TCB, SHB, VPB, MBB, and TPB all posted gains, with SHB trading the highest volume. Real estate stocks also rebounded, with VIC, GVR, and others recording strong increases. The Hanoi Stock Exchange’s HNX-Index climbed 0.89% to 216.04 points, with 56.7 million shares traded, reflecting widespread investor optimism across sectors. (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
