ETHIOPIA SECURES USD 1.6 BILLION INVESTMENT DEAL WITH FIVE GLOBAL FIRMS
Five international companies have signed agreements with the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC) to invest a total of USD 1.6 billion in Ethiopia, marking a major milestone in the country’s push to attract foreign direct investment.The announcement was made during the Invest Ethiopia 2025 Forum, jointly organized by the EIC, the Ministry of Finance, and various development partners. The high-level event brought together global investors and government officials to discuss investment opportunities across key sectors.According to the Commission, the agreements will enable the companies to launch investments primarily in mining, as well as other strategic sectors of the Ethiopian economy. While specific company names were not disclosed, the EIC emphasized that these commitments reflect growing international confidence in Ethiopia’s economic potential.Senior Ethiopian government officials used the forum to present detailed briefings on the country’s investment climate, available incentives, and policy reforms aimed at improving the ease of doing business.
