VIỆT NAM OFFERS INVESTMENT POTENTIAL AMID GLOBAL UNCERTAINTY
Despite global economic challenges, Việt Nam continues to attract strong foreign investment. Recent agreements with Thailand’s WHA and Amata Groups for industrial zone development highlight growing regional confidence, while major players like Russia’s Zarubezhneft and China’s Huadian are expanding renewable energy projects across the country. The U.S. fund Warburg Pincus pledged an additional $1 billion to the Grand Hồ Tràm project, reinforcing investor confidence amid new U.S. tariffs. Meta’s public policy director praised Việt Nam’s proactive response to U.S. trade measures, calling it essential for future investment decisions. In the first four months of 2025, Việt Nam recorded US$13.82 billion in registered FDI (up 40% YoY) and US$6.74 billion in disbursed capital—the highest in five years. Singapore led investment, followed by China, Japan, and others. The surge in capital contributions and stake acquisitions—doubling to US$1.83 billion—confirms Việt Nam’s growing appeal as a resilient and strategic investment destination. (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
