TAIWAN EXPORT ORDERS SET APRIL RECORD AI, cloud computing drive 19.8% year-on-year surge
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Taiwan’s export orders set an April record of US$56.4 billion (NT$1.70 trillion) amid strong demand for AI and cloud computing products, the Ministry of Economic Affairs said Tuesday.The April figure marked a 19.8% increase from the same month last year, per CNA. The ministry said export orders from January to April 2025 totaled US$205.87 billion, or 14.1% more than the same period in 2024.The impact of AI and cloud computing was the most pronounced on the information and communication technology sector, with export orders surging 20% from April last year to US$15.65 billion. The growth in orders covered laptops, smartphones, servers, and graphics cards.April orders for electronics products in general surged 35% from April last year to US$23.09 billion. The ministry named demand for AI and high-performance computing products as the main contributors to the improving picture.
