TAIWAN’S FOXTRON MULLS EV PROJECTS IN US AND SAUDI ARABIA Foxtron will supply parts to new Saudi car brand
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – Foxtron Vehicle Technologies will announce a new EV partner in the US by the end of the year, while also considering the manufacturing of car parts in Saudi Arabia, reports said Friday.Foxtron is a joint venture between carmaker Yulon Group and Foxconn Technology Group, the world’s largest contract electronics maker. Foxtron Chair Young Liu (劉揚偉), who also chairs Foxconn, announced the company’s intentions at Foxtron investors meeting Friday, per CNA.He told reporters he would reveal the concrete details of Foxtron’s cooperation with a US company at the end of the year. There are also plans for projects with carmakers in Japan and Europe, he added.In Saudi Arabia, Foxtron is cooperating with the Public Investment Fund in a joint venture called Ceer to launch a local EV brand, according to Liu. Foxconn will supply parts to the carmaker, with the possibility of production in the Middle Eastern country.Foxtron is also developing a new generation of EV engines and working closely with Nvidia on an Advanced Driver Assistance System, Liu said.
