Kazakhstan to modernize 8,000 km of water supply lines by 2030Kazakhstan will modernize around 8,000 kilometers of water supply and sewage lines by the end of 2029, Minister of Industry and Construction Yersaiyn Nagaspayev said."In accordance with the ministry’s program, which costs 1 trillion tenge, approximately 8,000 km of water supply and sewage lines will be modernized," Nagaspayev said during a government meeting on TuesdayThe press service of Ministry of Industry and Construction said that the modernization program is slated to be completed by the end of 2029.The total length of heating, water supply and sewage networks across the country is about 137,000 km, with an average wear and tear of 49%. Approximately 67,000 km of these networks require replacement.The highest wear and tear rate is observed in the following regions: Pavlodar (66%), Karaganda (62%), Abay (59%), East Kazakhstan (58%), Ulytau (58%) and North Kazakhstan (56%).
