UAE AND OMAN TO BOOST $15.2BN TRADE WITH MASSIVE SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE AT AL BUR
The UAE and Oman have signed an agreement to develop the Al Rawdah Special Economic Zone near the Al Buraimi border to enhance bilateral trade, currently valued at $15.2 billion. Phase 1 of the zone will span 14 sq km, with plans to expand to 25 sq km in Phase 2. The project will benefit from direct connections to both Jebel Ali Port (UAE) and key Omani ports.The zone will be developed by Mahadha Development Company , a joint venture led by DP World. It aims to boost economic cooperation, create jobs, and attract foreign investment. Target industries include manufacturing, logistics, pharmaceuticals, mining, and food processing.Strategically aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and Dubai's Economic Agenda D33 , the project seeks to reinforce supply chains, improve market access, and diversify the regional economy.
