KAZAKHSTAN-OIL-PRICES

Kazakh energy minister calls $70-$75 a "satisfactory" oil price rangeKazakhstan considers $70 to $75 per barrel an acceptable oil price range, Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov said Wednesday, while dismissing suggestions that his country impacts global crude markets.Speaking on the sidelines of the Astana International Forum, Akkenzhenov told reporters: "The higher the price, the better for any oil-producing nation. Kazakhstan benefits when prices remain above $70-$75 per barrel, a range that would likely satisfy most producing nations," Akkenzhenov said.He acknowledged market volatility makes predictions difficult but expressed cautious optimism. The minister also dismissed suggestions that Kazakhstan influences global oil prices, noting the country accounts for just 4% of OPEC+ output and less than 2% of worldwide production."With Kazakhstan exceeding its OPEC+ quota by just 0.4%, you understand these numbers can't possibly affect global markets," Akkenzhenov said. "Everyone recognizes Kazakhstan isn't causing the current price decline." (ICE ALMATY)
