Central Asian region gains strategic importance for Europe - Italian PMItalian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated the strategic importance of the Central Asian region for Europe."We consider Kazakhstan a very important partner for Italy and the whole of Europe. Moreover, the Central Asian region has currently gained strategic importance," Meloni said to President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during a brief conversation at Astana airport.Meloni thanked Tokayev for organizing the first Italy - Central Asia summit at the level of heads of state."I believe this summit could be historic in our relations with the region. In this challenging time, it is very important for us to strengthen cooperation at all levels," she noted.In turn, Tokayev expressed confidence that the upcoming talks would play an important, and possibly key, role in giving additional impetus to relations between Kazakhstan and Italy."Italy is one of Kazakhstan's leading trade partners in Europe. Yesterday and today, a business forum took place in Astana with the participation of numerous Italian entrepreneurs.
