AGRICULTURAL LINKAGE INTENSITY MUST IMPROVE

Nguyễn Trí Ngọc, general secretary of the Việt Nam General Council of Agriculture and Rural Development, emphasizes the importance of the “five-party linkage” between the State, banks, scientists, businesses, and farmers for sustainable, green agriculture amid deeper international integration. This collaboration enhances production scale, capital access, technology transfer, and market quality, addressing challenges and boosting agricultural value. The State sets policies, banks provide green credits, scientists offer innovations, businesses invest and purchase, and farmers adopt advanced methods. Organic agriculture with transparent standards is key to meeting market demand and adding value. Efficient fertilizer use is critical to reduce environmental impacts and greenhouse gas emissions. To help farmers and businesses access green financing, banks are simplifying loan procedures and enhancing support. Exemplified by initiatives like low-emission rice cultivation, this collective approach fosters a resilient, eco-friendly agricultural sector, vital for Việt Nam’s economic growth and climate response.
