Companies from chemical industry still have to cope with numerous challenges, even though the latest data from Statistics Poland (GUS) seem to indicate an improvement in some areas of this market. After four months of 2025, first and foremost, we can see increases in fertilizer production. The output of nitrogen fertilizers went up by 6.7 percent compared with the same period in 2024, and phosphate fertilizers by 4.1 percent. Production of pesticides and other agrochemicals increased even more strongly - by 22.6 percent. On the other hand, fewer plastics were produced (by 6.3 percent). In the first four months of this year, electricity and natural gas prices were higher than a year ago. In addition, companies still had to cope with very cheap imports made to the EU from eastern markets. (ICE VARSAVIA)
