Italy seeks to strengthen ties with Kazakhstan – PM MeloniItalian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said Friday during her visit to Astana that cooperation between Kazakhstan and Italy fully reflects the spirit of a strategic partnership."Our relations are at a high level, and we have acknowledged this many times. But there is always room to strengthen them further - this is precisely the goal of my visit. We recognize the importance of your country and the region as a historic crossroads connecting West and East," Meloni said during expanded talks with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, attended by delegations from both countries.Addressing Tokayev directly, she added, "I would like to say that I consider you one of the most pragmatic leaders I have had the chance to meet. Engaging with someone who deeply understands the complexity of today’s challenges is extremely valuable. In these difficult times, it is encouraging to see positive developments, one of which is the exceptional relationship between Italy and Kazakhstan."According to the Kazakh presidential press service, the discussions covered a wide range of issues, focusing on key areas of bilateral cooperation.Both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in deepening the partnership and implementing new initiatives to further advance Kazakh-Italian relations.
