Kyrgyzstan offers to host next Central Asia-Italy summit in 2027Kyrgyzstan has offered to host the second Central Asia - Italy summit in 2027, with the respective provision stipulated in a joint declaration issued by the Central Asian leaders and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni following the first summit that took place in Astana on Friday."The leaders agreed to facilitate further contacts and took note of the proposal made by the Kyrgyz Republic to host the next Central Asia - Italy summit in 2027, as well as to organize the Fourth Conference of Foreign Ministers in Italy in the spring of 2026," the declaration published on the Kazakh president's website said.Following the summit, the leaders agreed to launch joint events aimed at knowledge sharing and institutional cooperation in key sectors. They proposed holding a roundtable on cooperation in water resources in the Central Asia - Italy format until 2026 and on energy cooperation in 2027.At the same time, the parties stood in favor of creating platforms for knowledge sharing to address global challenges in such areas as energy, water resources, sustainable agriculture, health and connectivity more effectively.The leaders also stressed the importance of enhancing ties in academic exchange, science, research and innovation, and tourism.
