Kazakhstan and Italy agree to cooperate in the field of critical raw materialsKazakhstan and Italy have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the supply of critical minerals and strategic raw materials, the press service of the Kazakh president said in a Thursday statement.An agreement on critical minerals and raw materials was signed during the visit of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to Astana by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Italy’s Ministry of Enterprises and Made In Italy and Ministry of Environment and Energy Security.During the talks between the Kazakh and Italian leaders, representatives of the governments of the two countries signed an agreement on the readmission of individuals. Additionally, Kazakhstan’s Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna and Italy’s Maire Tecnimont and Ansaldo inked a number of cooperation agreements. Also, memorandums of understanding and cooperation were sealed by Samruk-Energy and SACE Spa, Kazakh Invest and Italian Trade Agency.Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation signed a cooperation program with Italy’s OICE, an association of engineering and architectural consulting firms, to exchange knowledge and best practices in water management and to address water-related challenges.Finally, a joint declaration was signed by Development Bank of Kazakhstan, Italy’s Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A. and SACE SpA.
