Kazakhstan to launch register of domestic producers in 2026Kazakhstan plans to introduce an online register of domestic producers starting January 1, 2026, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov announced.“The Ministry of Finance, together with the Ministries of Digital Development and Industry, should launch an online register of Kazakhstan’s producers by January 1, 2026. All concerned government bodies and quasi-public organizations should harmonize their procurement-related regulations by August 1 [of this year]," Bektenov said during the Monday meeting of the government.The system, designed to streamline procurement processes and ensure transparency, will automatically include verified producers while excluding fraudulent ones. New applicants will be added through a simplified digital process without bureaucratic hurdles, the prime minister explained.The registry will integrate government databases, eliminating the need for manual checks or expert evaluations. "Everything will be processed digitally, minimizing human intervention while enhancing necessary control in order to identify unscrupulous producers," the prime minister said.On May 19 of this, year, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the Law on Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan Regarding the Determination of the Country of Origin of Goods. The law requires the establishment of a register of Kazakhstan-based producers as part of the e-government system. The register will contain data on domestic producers and the goods they manufacture.
