HEISCO WINS CONTRACT FROM KUWAIT OIL COMPANY
Kuwait-based Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding (Heisco) has won a $45m contract to repair and revamp services for oil production facilities in the north of the country. The client on the project is state-owned upstream operator Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) and the contract duration is 60 months.Last month, KOC tendered several contracts that are due to have bids submitted later this year. These include a tender for the design, construction and delivery of oil-skimming vessels.Oil skimmers are devices for recovering spilled oil from the surface of water, usually the sea.Skimmers can be self-propelled, used from shore or operated from vessels – and their efficiency is usually dependent on sea conditions, with rough water disrupting their ability to gather oil.The invitation to bid for the oil-skimming contract was issued on 18 May and bids are due on 17 August. A pre-tender meeting is due to take place on 17 June.Another contract tendered by KOC is for maintenance services for the roads that connect KOC oil fields in the north and west of Kuwait. The invitation to bid for this contract was also issued on 18 May, with bids due on 17 August. The pre-tender meeting for this contract will take place on 16 June.KOC also issued an invitation to bid on a tender that has a bid submission deadline of 27 July. The scope is focused on manifolds and group trunklines in the north Kuwait area. (ICE KUWAIT)
