Kazakhstan to speed up purchase of agricultural machineryThe government of Kazakhstan will take special effort to accelerate the replacement of worn-out agricultural machines in the next three years, the press service of the government said in a Monday press release.As many as 5.5% of old agricultural machines were replaced in 2024 compared to 4.5% in 2023, according to the press release.The government expects the replacement rate to reach 9% by 2028.As of January 1, 2025, Kazakhstan had 139,000 tractors, 31,000 harvesters, 5,600 seeders, 71,000 planters and 141,000 tillage tools, according to government data.This year, as many as 6.5% of worn-out machines will be replaced.At least 250 billion tenge will be allocated in 2025 to support easy-term leasing, which will allow the farmers to buy about 6,000 machines. Since February 24 of this year, the agricultural producers have submitted 3,555 applications for a total value of 129.2 billion tenge, which has resulted in the conclusion of 2,400 agreement for the supply of 4,580 machines worth 85.7 billion tenge, according to the press release.
