Multimodal terminal commissioned at Poti portThe official opening of a multimodal terminal implemented with the participation of Kazakhstan, Georgia, and Azerbaijan took place on Monday in Poti, announced Poti TransTerminal JSC."The new terminal has become a significant facility on the Middle Corridor (TITR - Trans-Caspian International Transport Route), connecting China and Central Asian countries with Europe via the Caspian and Black Seas," the statement said.The terminal's annual capacity is 80,000 TEU (Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units), with a prospect of reaching 200,000 TEU. Its simultaneous storage volume is 4,000 TEU. The terminal features 3.3 km of railway tracks and can accommodate up to 120 railcars simultaneously."Investments in the project exceeded $30 million, consisting of 100% private capital," the statement said.The project implementation period, from concept to launch, was less than two years.Poti Port is one of the key facilities on the TITR, linking Asian and European countries and facilitating cargo shipments along international transport chains.
