HOUSING IN THE NEW INDONESIAN CAPITAL CITY ATTRACTS FOREIGN INVESTORS

Indonesia’s new capital city, Nusantara (IKN), is drawing strong international investor interest, especially through public-private partnerships (PPP), with the housing sector leading the way. Countries like the US, Turkey, Spain, and Brunei have already committed capital, signaling confidence in IKN’s vision as a modern, forward-looking hub. Beyond housing, PPP projects are also advancing in infrastructure, including roads and multi-utility tunnels, with five investors from China, Malaysia, and Indonesia preparing feasibility studies. The total indicative investment is valued at IDR 71.8 trillion (US$ 4.4 billion), with the majority coming from foreign sources. The IKN Authority emphasized that PPPs are central to the city’s sustainable and inclusive development, supported by improved governance and streamlined processes. Minister Basuki Hadimuljono highlighted the government’s commitment to reducing bureaucratic hurdles through better inter-agency coordination, which has helped build investor trust. The growing domestic and international interest is seen as a direct result of ongoing investment reform policies, reinforcing IKN’s role as a symbol of Indonesia’s economic transformation.Source: https://en.vietnamplus.vn/housing-in-new-indonesian-capital-city-attracts-foreign-investors-post320786.vnp (ICE GIACARTA)
