INDONESIA BOOSTS GREEN MOBILITY WITH NEW INCENTIVES FOR COMMERCIAL EVS
To revitalize Indonesia's automotive sector, the government is expanding its support for eco-friendly vehicles by introducing both fiscal and non-fiscal incentives for electric, hybrid, and now commercial vehicles. This initiative is part of the broader green mobility push, with the Ministry of Industry aiming to make Indonesia a significant global player in the supply chain of environmentally friendly commercial vehicles. Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita emphasized the country’s commitment by accelerating the net-zero emissions (NZE) target for the manufacturing sector to 2050—ten years ahead of the national goal. A key element of the strategy includes boosting the local content value (TKDN), which enhances opportunities for fiscal benefits and government procurement participation. The government is also reforming TKDN regulations and easing requirements for government fleet vehicles to attract investment and support fair competition. These steps are designed to improve competitiveness, stimulate local industry, and ensure long-term growth in the green vehicle segment.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/4495/policy-and-governance/indonesia-pushes-green-mobility-with-new-incentives-for-commercial-vehicle-industry (ICE GIACARTA)
