Kazakhstan allocates 2.6 trln tenge for healthcare development in 2025 – TokayevKazakhstan is steadily increasing healthcare funding each year, with this year’s allocation reaching 2.6 trillion tenge, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced."In general, the volume of funds allocated to healthcare is growing annually. This year, the figure has reached 2.6 trillion tenge," Tokayev said Friday during an awards ceremony in Astana marking Healthcare Workers Day.According to the president, the country’s healthcare system is making confident progress."We have many achievements to boast of. The average life expectancy in the country has reached 75.4 years. Maternal and child mortality has reduced by about 12%. Over the past five years, nearly 800 clinics and hospitals have been built. Work in this direction will continue," he said.The president highlighted the growth of Kazakhstan’s domestic pharmaceutical industry."It is important to continue efforts in this area, which has taken on strategic importance by attracting major international investors. We must fully unlock the potential of medical science. A solid foundation has already been laid," Tokayev said.He noted that Kazakh scientists have achieved significant breakthroughs in oncology, transplantology, neonatology, genetics and biomedicine. Locally developed drugs for blood disorders are being introduced.Kazakhstan celebrates Healthcare Workers Day every third Sunday in June. (ICE ALMATY)
