Belgium’s Sarens to build new bypass road, bridge on Kazakhstan-China borderBelgian group Sarens will build a new bypass road and associated infrastructure at the Nur Zholy border crossing point on the Kazakhstan-China border, with investments estimated at $50 million, according to a statement from the Kazakh government.It is reported that Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Sarens Chairman of the Board Ludo Sarens discussed plans for the project's implementation.The road will be 3.2 km long and 12 m wide to accommodate oversized cargo weighing over 100 tonnes. Parking areas for vehicles covering 81.6 hectares are also planned.Additionally, the project includes the construction of a highway bridge and the installation of relevant infrastructure.All facilities will be built using private investment from the company, with the total investment amounting to approximately $50 million.It was noted that following the meeting, both parties confirmed mutual interest in implementing the bypass road construction project and expressed readiness to expand cooperation.The Prime Minister instructed relevant state agencies to provide necessary support for the project's timely implementation.Sarens is a Belgian group of companies headquartered in Wolvertem. Sarens Kazakhstan LLP has been operating in Kazakhstan since 2003, providing crane rental and heavy transport services. (ICE ALMATY)
