The Italian ambassador to Syria, Stefano Ravagnan, said that unifying the banking systems between Syria and Italy is a pivotal step towards activating bilateral trade channels.  Ravagnan said in a post on the X platform following his meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Dr. Abdul Qader al-Hasriya: “My first meeting with the Governor was very fruitful, where we discussed the positive developments regarding the reconnection of banking systems. This step will open the way for the resumption of trade relations that will bring great benefits to small and medium-sized enterprises and support economic recovery efforts in Syria.” (ICE BEIRUT)
