INDONESIA LAUNCHES ITS LARGEST INTEGRATED SOLAR PANEL FACTORY IN KENDAL
Indonesia has inaugurated its largest and first integrated solar cell and module manufacturing facility, PT Trina Mas Agra Indonesia (TMAI), in Central Java’s Kendal Industrial Park. Backed by a IDR1.5 trillion investment, the factory is a collaboration between Trina Solar, Sinar Mas Group’s PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa, and PT PLN Indonesia Power Renewable. With a production capacity of 1 GW annually and cutting-edge i-TOPCon Advanced technology, the facility produces high-efficiency solar panels rated up to 720 Wp. It employs 640 skilled workers and aims to reduce Indonesia’s reliance on imported components while strengthening the domestic renewable energy supply chain. Beyond its technological significance, the factory is expected to contribute IDR3.7 trillion during its investment phase and IDR1 trillion annually once fully operational, potentially driving 8% sectoral growth. It also supports Indonesia’s broader goals of energy sovereignty, sustainability, and industrial downstreaming by fostering local capabilities in wafer, ingot, and polysilicon production—laying the groundwork for a fully localized solar energy ecosystem.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/4566/corporate-affairs/indonesia-launches-its-largest-integrated-solar-panel-factory-in-kendal (ICE GIACARTA)
