Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi received a phone call on Monday from Dubravka Šuica, European Commissioner for the Mediterranean. During the call, Safadi and Šuica discussed the repercussions of the dangerous escalation in the region and efforts to de-escalate the situation. They emphasized the importance of returning to negotiations as a means to reach a political solution to the Iranian nuclear issue and to protect the region from further deterioration. They also addressed the tragic situation in Gaza, with Safadi stressing the urgent need to end Israeli aggression, allow the entry of humanitarian aid, and take effective steps toward advancing a just peace based on the two-state solution. Safadi and Šuica underscored the importance of the Jordanian-European partnership and reviewed cooperation programs set to be activated following the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement during His Majesty King Abdullah’s visit to Brussels in January 2025. Additionally, they discussed the upcoming investment conference planned for early next year in Amman, aimed at supporting investment in the Kingdom and encouraging participation from EU Member States under the auspices of the European Commission.
