Kazakhstan reduced oil production by 2.7%, increased gas output by 0.7% in 2024- Energy InstituteKazakhstan’s oil production in 2024 decreased by 2.7% compared to 2023, to 87.6 million tonnes, according to a review by the UK-based Energy Institute.Last year, according to the institute data Kazakhstan accounted for 1.9% of global oil production.Gas production in Kazakhstan rose by 0.7% in 2024 to 29.7 billion cubic meters (0.7% of global output). Domestic gas consumption increased by 3.5% to 20.7 billion cubic meters.Energy Institute’s calculations include marketable gas production and exclude volumes flared or re-injected. Natural gas extracted for liquefaction is included.Electricity generation grew by 4.3%, reaching 118.5 TWh (0.4% of global production). (ICE ALMATY)
