Earlier this month, officials confirmed Russia's Rosatom will build the first plant while considering China's CNNC for a second facility.Russia recently signed a roadmap with Kazakhstan for two VVER-1200 reactor units, with the full project expected to take approximately 11 years for completion by 2035-36. Officials are currently negotiating Russian export financing for the first plant.The energy ministry plans to complete a comprehensive construction plan for three planned nuclear facilities by mid-2025.
