Chinese company to build adhesive tape plant in AtyrauAtyrau-based Eurasia Packing Materials LLP and China’s Shenyang Tiantianyuan Materials Co will launch next year a joint project for the construction of an adhesive tape (packaging tape) plant in Atyrau, the administrative center of the Atyrau region, west Kazakhstan, the regional administration said in Monday statement.The two companies signed a memorandum of cooperation during a working visit of Atyrau regional governor Serik Shapkenov to China."Design work will start this year, with plant construction scheduled for next year," the statement says.However, no information about the value of investment in the project was announced.Feedstock for the new plant will be supplied by the companies operating within the Atyrau Petrochemical Cluster, according to the statement.During the China trip, the Atyrau delegation visited three petrochemical complexes: Huajin Aramco Petrochemical, Bora LyondellBasell Petrochemical and Hengli Petrochemical, the regional administration said."These facilities both process raw material and produce finished goods, utilizing advanced technologies and automated systems," the statement says.Governor Shapkenov emphasized the importance of adopting similar integrated approaches in Atyrau.
