STRONG CASH INFLOW DRIVES VN-INDEX TO MULTI-YEAR HIGH
Việt Nam’s stock market surged to a multi-year high on Wednesday, with the VN-Index rising 15.86 points (1.12%) to 1,431.32, marking its fourth consecutive gain and highest level this year. Liquidity soared to nearly VNĐ41 trillion (US$1.6 billion) — a peak not seen in over a year. The rally was driven by strong capital inflows into the financial and banking sectors, which contributed over 70% of active buying. Major gainers included Vietcombank (VCB +4.24%), SSI Securities (SSI +5.5%), and TPBank (TPB +6.43%). Foreign investors net bought over VNĐ1.9 trillion on HoSE, marking their sixth straight buying session. Meanwhile, some sectors like IT, retail, chemicals, and utilities saw profit-taking. The HNX-Index also rose modestly to 238.63 points, backed by VNĐ2.8 trillion in trading value. (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
