PAIH: IMPROVEMENT IN DIRECT FOREIGN INVESTMENTS

After alarming reports on the state of foreign investment in the previous two years, there are signs from the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) that the situation is improving. “We are still waiting for the official results for the first half of the year, but we can already see from partial data that the situation with the investments we service as PAIH is very good,” says Marcin Graczyk, a spokesperson for PAIH. This is an important signal, as foreign direct investment (FDI) has been declining recently. According to NCTAD's June report on global investment, FDI inflows to Poland last year scored a dramatic drop to USD12.74bn from USD28.36bn. The PAIH agency, which handles only a portion of FDI in Poland, ended last year with 20 fewer projects than in 2023. (ICE VARSAVIA)
