THANH HÓA NEEDS $860 MILLION TO DEVELOP SEAPORT INFRASTRUCTURE

Thanh Hóa Province plans to invest VNĐ21.9 trillion (US$840 million) in seaport infrastructure by 2030, following a development plan approved by the Ministry of Construction. The province aims to build 24 ports with 57–65 berths, capable of handling up to 86.15 million tonnes of cargo annually. Investment will focus on expanding both northern and southern channels of Nghi Sơn Port, upgrading capacity for vessels up to 50,000DWT or more. With its strategic location and multi-modal transport links, including the Na Meo border gate and Thọ Xuân airport, Thanh Hóa is positioning itself as a key logistics and maritime trade hub. The Nghi Sơn Economic Zone offers additional incentives, making the province a prime destination for regional and international investors. (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
