VN-INDEX FINISHES HIGHER DESPITE RISING SELLING FORCE

HÀ NỘI — The VN-Index closed higher on Monday, gaining 12.66 points (0.87%) to 1,470.42, its highest level since March 2022, despite rising profit-taking pressure early in the session. The market breadth remained positive with 206 advancers and 117 decliners, and liquidity stayed strong at over VNĐ31.4 trillion (US$1.2 billion). Initially, large-cap declines — including Vinhomes (VHM) down 2.05% and Vietcombank (VCB) down 2.71% — dragged the index down by 1.81% within the first 25 minutes. However, strong capital inflows and a broad market rebound lifted the index later in the session. Stocks like Becamex (BCM), GVR, MWG, and VHM all staged strong recoveries. Midcap stocks led gains, rising 1.58%, with DXS, HDC, and DXG hitting ceiling prices. On the HNX, the index edged up 0.33% to 239.61 points on VNĐ2.27 trillion in trading value. Foreign net buying on HoSE dropped sharply to VNĐ130.3 billion, while HNX saw net selling. Analysts expect further upside but caution near the 1,480-point resistance. (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
