KAZAKHSTAN-INFLATION-2025-FORECAST

Kazakhstan aims for 8-10% inflation in 2026 - MinisterKazakhstan's inflation rate is projected to reach 8-10% in 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin said Tuesday.Speaking at a press conference, Zhumangarin noted, "This year's inflation target remains 10-11%. Next year, inflation is expected to range between 8-10%," he said. The minister suggested the National Bank of Kazakhstan might ease monetary policy if these targets are achieved. "We believe the National Bank may consider cutting its base rate as prices stabilize within this range," Zhumangarin added. The central bank revised its inflation forecasts upward in early June, now projecting 10.5-12.5% for 2025 and 9.5-11.5% for 2026. This marked the second such adjustment this year. (ICE ALMATY)
