The Expo 2030 Riyadh Company (ERC), a new PIF-owned subsidiary, has received bids for the construction of site offices for the Expo 2030 Riyadh venue. Located north of the city near the future King Salman International Airport, the 6-square-kilometer site will be one of the largest World Expo venues. Expo 2030, running from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031, is projected to attract over 40 million visitors and contribute significantly to Saudi GDP ($64 billion during construction, $5.6 billion operationally) and job creation (171,000 direct/indirect jobs). After the event, the site will be transformed into a multicultural global village.
