US$7 BILLION PLANNED FOR INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL CENTER IN HCMC

HCMC – The city plans to invest approximately VND172 trillion (US$7 billion) to develop an international financial center, with an initial VND16 trillion allocated over 2–3 years to build infrastructure in the core 11-lot zone in Thu Thiem. About VND2 trillion will fund headquarters for key financial regulatory bodies. Spanning 793 hectares across Ben Thanh, Saigon, and Thu Thiem wards, the center will house global banking, fintech, asset management, and stock market activities. Existing financial hubs, such as Saigon Trade Center and Techcombank Tower, will be integrated. Hard infrastructure priorities include Metro Lines 1, 2, and 3A, smart traffic systems, Bach Dang Wharf modernization, and upgrades to utilities, 5G, and IoT systems. The city also aims to build a skilled workforce through university partnerships and attract foreign experts, as part of a strategic collaboration with the Astana International Financial Centre. — VNS/BIZHUB (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
