INDONESIA TARGETS FOREIGN INVESTMENT WITH NEW AI ROADMAP
Indonesia is set to complete its first national AI strategy next month, a move designed to attract foreign investment and join the global AI and chip-making race. Following Malaysia's success in drawing significant tech firm investments for AI infrastructure, Indonesia aims to establish its own robust AI ecosystem. Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Nezar Patria confirmed the roadmap will guide AI developers on market navigation, covering infrastructure and computational clusters, with a focus on AI adoption in health and agriculture. This comprehensive document is expected to showcase Indonesia's AI potential to investors, despite current challenges such as a lack of domestic infrastructure and AI skills. The country, which saw a US$1.7 billion investment from Microsoft in cloud and AI services last year and has engaged with Nvidia, is also pitching its critical minerals to foreign firms to secure a larger share of the global semiconductor supply chain.Source: https://www.businesstimesintl.com/asean-business/indonesia-targets-foreign-investment-new-ai-roadmap (ICE GIACARTA)
