PM LAUDS CONSTRUCTION MINISTRY'S REFORMS, PUSHES FOR INFRASTRUCTURE, GREEN GOALS
Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính praised the Ministry of Construction for its significant reforms and achievements during its 2020–2025 Party Committee tenure, particularly in infrastructure development. Speaking at the ministry’s 2025–2030 Party Congress in Hà Nội, he commended institutional reform, planning, and anti-corruption efforts aligned with the 13th National Party Congress's resolutions. Notable progress includes Việt Nam's plan to complete 3,000km of expressways by year-end and key milestones like the first phase of Long Thành International Airport and investment approvals for strategic railways. However, PM Chính highlighted persistent challenges such as a volatile real estate market, lack of affordable housing, urban congestion, and pollution. He called for greater adoption of digital transformation, innovation, and green transition strategies, including smart city development and circular economy models. The PM urged the ministry to shift focus from managing individual projects to developing regulations, policies, and planning. He also emphasized boosting transport connectivity, especially railways and waterways, expanding public-private partnerships, and exceeding social housing and school construction targets in remote areas. The new Party Committee for 2025–2030 includes 39 members, with Trần Hồng Minh reappointed as Secretary. The congress also formalized key appointments to the Party Committee’s standing board and inspection team. (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
