INDONESIA'S ECONOMY GROWS 5.12% IN Q2 2025
Indonesia’s economy expanded by 5.12% year-on-year in Q2 2025, driven primarily by household consumption and gross fixed capital formation (GFCF). Household spending, which made up 54.25% of GDP, contributed 2.64 percentage points to growth, fueled by increased demand during religious and school holidays. GFCF accounted for 27.83% of GDP and added 2.06 points, supported by a rebound in construction investment. Government consumption contributed 0.22 points, while exports and imports surged by 10.67% and 11.65% respectively, reflecting strong demand for non-oil shipments, tourism, capital goods, and raw materials. From the production side, manufacturing led GDP growth with a 1.13-point contribution, followed by trade, ICT, and construction. The fastest-growing sectors were other services (11.31%), business services (9.31%), and transportation and warehousing (8.52%). Structurally, manufacturing, agriculture, trade, construction, and mining were the top contributors to GDP. Java remained the economic core, contributing 56.94% of GDP and growing 5.24% YoY. Indonesia’s nominal GDP reached IDR5.95 quadrillion (US$383.87 billion), while real GDP stood at IDR3.39 quadrillion (US$218.71 billion), with a 4.04% quarter-to-quarter increase from Q1 2025.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/4920/markets-and-finance/economy-grows-5-12-percent-in-q2-2025-driven-by-household-spending-investment (ICE GIACARTA)
