INDONESIA'S ENERGY&MINERAL RESOURCES SECTOR INVESTMENT REACHES US$13.9BLN
Indonesia’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) reported that investment in the energy and mineral resources sector reached US$13.9 billion (IDR225.5 trillion) in the first half of 2025, marking a 24.1% increase from the same period in 2024 and the highest level in five years. The surge was primarily driven by strong performance in the oil and gas sector, which accounted for US$8.1 billion, up 28.75% year-on-year. The mineral and coal sector followed with US$3.1 billion, a 29.17% increase, while the electricity and new renewable energy sectors contributed US$1.9 billion and US$0.8 billion respectively. Despite declining global prices for coal, crude oil, and metal minerals, the sector also generated IDR 138.8 trillion in Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP), achieving 54.5% of the 2025 target by mid-year. Minister Bahlil Lahadalia emphasized that the investment momentum reflects resilience and strategic sectoral growth, particularly in oil, gas, and minerba. The performance underscores Indonesia’s continued attractiveness for energy investment and its commitment to diversifying its energy portfolio.Source: https://industri.kontan.co.id/news/investasi-sektor-esdm-semester-i-2025-tembus-us139-miliar-tertinggi-dalam-5-tahun (ICE GIACARTA)
