Based on feedback from tens of thousands of consumers and businesses globally, the study found that guests expect smooth, fast check-ins and checkouts, with 34% seeking quick digital booking and payment options, especially through digital wallets or local currency. Self-service tools, such as kiosks, are in demand, particularly among business travelers and Gen X. Meanwhile, AI assistants are gaining traction, with 68% of hotel consumers already using them for travel decisions, though older generations remain hesitant. The hospitality industry is responding by investing in AI for personalized services and operational efficiency. The report also highlighted the importance of offering flexible, multi-currency pricing and modern payment systems to cater to younger travellers' preferences, such as “buy now, pay later” options.
