Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC) has amended several laws, most notably its Data Protection Law, under the DIFC Laws Amendment Law No. 1 of 2025, effective July 15, 2025. Key changes include introducing a Private Right of Action, allowing individuals to seek remedies through the DIFC Courts for misuse of personal data, and clarifying the law's scope, including extra-territorial application and criteria for international data transfers. Additional clarifications were made to the Law of Security, Insolvency Law, and Employment Law.
