Omani ports saw strong growth in H1 2025, with container and cargo handling up 11.7% to 2,427,195 TEUs and ship traffic rising 11.1% to 6,586 ships, compared to the same period last year. Total goods handled increased 5.2% to 70.1 million tons, while vehicle arrivals reached 50,248 and livestock imports hit 2.69 million heads. Growth was supported by improved port infrastructure across Salalah, Sohar, Duqm, Sultan Qaboos, and Shinas ports, and ongoing development projects, including Khor Jarama and rehabilitation of Shannah and Masirah ports, are set to further enhance maritime efficiency.
