Emirati Arabi Uniti
EXCHANGE RATE FORECAST
Several banks, including Emirates NBD, First Abu Dhabi Bank, and Mashreq Bank, have reaffirmed their forecasts for the UAE dirham, expecting continued stability in 2025. Analysts cite the country's strong reserves, prudent fiscal management, and successful economic diversification as key factors supporting the currency. Growth in sectors such as tourism, real estate, and financial services is also expected to reinforce macroeconomic resilience. Overall, the dirham is projected to maintain its peg with minimal volatility in the near term. The AED rate is expected to remain stable, as the UAE dirham is pegged to the US dollar. while the UAE's strong reserves and dollar-based oil revenues provide additional support. With most banks anticipating a weaker US dollar in 2025–2026, the AED could see relatively lower values against the euro if the dollar softens. Despite uncertainty in the Euro-Dollar outlook for 2025–2026, the dirham's peg ensures limited volatility against the euro. (ICE DUBAI)
