INDONESIA: KALIMANTAN OFFERS 15 KEY PROJECTS TO INVESTORS FROM 12 COUNTRIES
Five provinces in Kalimantan—South, Central, West, East, and North—are set to showcase 15 strategic investment projects to international investors from 12 countries at the Pamor Borneo 2025 event in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, from August 21–24. The initiative, led by Bank Indonesia and regional governments, aims to boost economic resilience through trade, investment, and tourism. Highlighted projects include South Kalimantan’s medical hazardous waste treatment system and hydroelectric power plant, Central Kalimantan’s ecotourism and shrimp-based derivative products, and West Kalimantan’s bauxite downstreaming for aluminum production to support the development of Indonesia’s new capital city (IKN). East Kalimantan will offer palm oil derivative industries and waste management systems, while North Kalimantan presents healthcare infrastructure and port development. The Meratus Geopark’s UNESCO designation adds appeal to South Kalimantan’s investment climate, and preparations for the event have included international promotion through Bank Indonesia’s global network and embassy collaborations. The Borneo Business and Investment Forum 2025 will serve as the central platform for presenting these opportunities, reinforcing Kalimantan’s role in Indonesia’s broader economic strategy.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/374349/kalimantan-offers-15-key-projects-to-investors-from-12-countries?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=desktop&utm_campaign=top_news (ICE GIACARTA)
