Kazakhstan to strengthen border control to combat illegal export of petroleum productsFirst Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar has instructed to strengthen control at the state border to prevent the illegal export of petroleum products, the government's press service reported.The deputy prime minister gave this instruction on Thursday following a meeting dedicated to the situation on the domestic market of fuels and lubricants. The meeting discussed issues of ensuring stable supplies of fuels and lubricants to the domestic market and strengthening control over the turnover of petroleum products in border regions."Following the meeting, the first deputy prime minister instructed responsible state bodies to develop a detailed plan to prevent the illegal flow of petroleum products and to strengthen control at the state border, including through monitoring the movement of goods and fuel consumption in the regions," the government's statement said.Sklyar emphasized that the state's priority task is to meet domestic needs."Price disparities and logistics should not create conditions for a deficit," the statement said.According to the Ministry of Energy, the current market situation is stable, and there is a necessary fuel reserve.The meeting was attended by Vice Minister of Energy Alibek Zhamaubayev, Vice Minister of Finance Yerzhan Birzhanov, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Lepekha, Deputy Chairman of the Financial Monitoring Agency Kairat Bijanov, as well as representatives of the border service of the National Security Committee (KNB).
