TRUE COLOURS BOARDS TORONTO PREMIERE ‘BETWEEN DREAMS AND HOPE’ AND VENICE FEATUR
True Colours Expands Autumn Festival Slate with ‘Between Dreams and Hope’ and ‘Orfeo’ Rome-based sales company True Colours has added two titles to its autumn festival lineup: Farnoosh Samadi’s Between Dreams and Hope and Virgilio Villoresi’s Orfeo. Samadi’s film, selected for Toronto’s Platform section, follows Azad, a trans man, and his lover Nora as they navigate tradition and modernity while traveling to a remote Iranian village to obtain documents to live authentically. It marks Samadi’s second feature after 180 Degree Rule (2020). Villoresi’s debut feature, Orfeo, tells the story of a pianist whose fascination with an abandoned villa leads him through an imaginative and unsettling journey, where only one door can bring him back. These join True Colours’ growing slate, which includes Franco Maresco’s Bravo Bene!, Antonio Capuano’s Andrea’s Island, and documentaries Manara and Agnus Dei. The company is led by Elliot Gustin-Hollman, with Fabio Tucci and Francesca Tiberi heading acquisitions and sales, respectively. (ICE TORONTO)
